A Message from Our Founder:
“Welcome to Mosaïque Center for Language & Cultural Arts! As a teacher, dance director, language enthusiast and mom, I have had the extraordinary privilege of working with children and adults of all ages in their pursuit of personal growth and fulfillment. I began Mosaïque in 2009 as the ultimate culmination of the skills and talents I have developed in my 20 years of experience in dance, culture and language.
As a woman of Persian descent raised in the U.S., I came of age torn between the conflicting notions and values of two very different cultures. I learned to resolve those conflicts within myself through the Arts, which offered a universal language of expression.
As a child in Iran I learned the urban social dances of my culture. As an adult I discovered a passion for the rich and varied dance disciplines of my heritage and expanded my repertoire to include Arab dance traditions, Egyptian dances in particular. I bring a unique and valid perspective to Mosaïque as I know from personal experience the value of early language and cultural training.
The skills we develop through language acquisition and exploration of the Arts broaden not only our minds but our sense of self. As a child I learned English and the American culture out of necessity, and later French for academic prestige. But I grew to love languages, their cultural offerings and the opportunities they afforded me. I have observed first-hand in my students and my own children, how the study and appreciation of languages and their respective cultural arts have helped them develop creativity, mental acuity and self-awareness.
I believe in continuing education and advancement no matter your age or experience. My goal is to encourage others to pursue challenging interests which present opportunities for growth, enrichment, self-actualization, and ultimately a more joyful and fulfilling life."
