Mosaïque Language & Cultural Arts . . . bridge to a colorful world!

"I have observed first-hand in my students and my own children, how the study and appreciation of languages and their respective cultural arts have helped them develop creativity, mental acuity and self-awareness."
Katayoun, Mosaïque Founder

Mosaïque offers unique and exciting enrichment programs for young children to teens. We strive to provide inspiring and stimulating experiences through diverse educational and recreational pursuits. One of our goals is to impart in-depth cultural knowledge and sensitivity through multi-sensory experiences and lively participation, such as visual presentations, hands-on projects, and mentally engaging activities.

In addition, we are developing these programs:

**Multicultural Music & Movement**

I. Basis of Curriculum: The content and framework of this program are based on components derived from the following National Standards in Education:
National Dance Standards and the Culture component of National Foreign Language Standards

II. Thematic Units: Through a structured format which allows for individual expression, children receive training in proper technique and theory in cultural dance forms while learning social interaction through dance and music as a community experience. The dances sometimes tell stories and often reveal cultural and historical nuances. Students learn distinguishing features and flavors of each dance style and its corresponding music while learning to use one’s individual strengths to develop a shared artistic vision as a group. Each class will begin with a warm up and moving meditation of the postures and positions of dance. Following technique exercises, steps and combinations are added that progress to a variety of movement activities including choreographic sequences and improvisation exercises. As they learn the dance steps and concepts, students will also learn the corresponding vocabulary in the language of cultural origin. Students will collaborate on creating choreographed routines and movement stories which may be performed for family and friends.
